Before joining Douglas Elliman and The Vanderploeg Team Lucille was a marketing communications executive with Deloitte & Touche, and a founding partner in The Townsend Group, a financial services consultancy. She waspresident and a longtime board member of The Financial Women's Association of New York where she created ground-breaking programs to help members advance their careers and to assist corporations in ways to attract and retain women executives. She created and participated in conferences for American executives to meet with business leaders and heads of state in Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, and South America.

She has been a member of The Economic Club of New York, on the board of The International Alliance of Business and ProfessionalWomen, and on the board of the New York Women's Agenda. She was a trustee of Greenwich House, and has done volunteer work for Youth America Grand Prix, which provides opportunities for youngsters to pursue careers in dance. She supports City Meals on Wheels and several other charities. 

She has spoken publicly on marketing, and the need for more women on public company boards, before business and professional organizations, on TV and radio, and has written for and been quoted in a variety of publications. A native New Yorker, she has an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and a BA in English from Wagner College.
